About Rhizera

Science brought to the field

Rhizera Biosolutions is an agricultural biotechnology company based in Calgary, Alberta. We are developing novel microbial inoculants targeting the root zone the critical interface between plant and soil where biological solutions can make the greatest impact.

Our mission is to help crops withstand the growing threats of soil salinity and drought two of the most destructive forces limiting agricultural productivity worldwide. By harnessing beneficial bacteria that thrive where it matters most, we are building tools to help feed a more resilient world.

Our Technology

Root-zone science for a stressed world

Rhizera's platform is built on a proprietary two-strain bacterial consortium Kushneria marisflavi A3 and Kushneria sp. B5 selected for their exceptional tolerance to salinity stress and their ability to promote plant resilience at the root interface.

Rhizosphere Colonisation

Our bacterial strains are optimised to colonise the root surface and surrounding soil establishing stable populations that persist through the crop growth cycle under saline and drought conditions.

Salinity Resilience

Elevated soil salinity is one of agriculture's fastest-growing challenges. Our consortium is specifically selected from saline environments, making it uniquely adapted to support plant growth where conventional approaches fall short.

Drought Stress Tolerance

Water scarcity is redefining what it means to farm productively. Rhizera's microbial solutions work at the plant-soil interface to support physiological resilience during periods of water stress without genetic modification.
